Laguiole en Aubrac is know for traditional forging. The company has been producing high-quality knives that are now world famous since the mid 19th century. Laguiole relies on craftsmanship and high-quality materials that guarantee durability. A Laguiole blacksmith carries out up to 216 work steps to manufacture one knife. Finally the back of the knife is decorated with the blacksmith's individual engraving, which is called "guillochage" and makes each knife unique. Laguiole's aspiration: to manufacture knives (and now also forks, spoons and more) that are passed in from generation to generation.
